I write for the outdoor and adventure industries: feature stories, profiles, gear reviews, how-to guides, best-of roundups, and more. Profiles are a particular strength, from working pilots to former senators, getting at who someone actually is rather than just what they've done. My work has appeared in Cross Country Magazine, USHPA Pilot, Territory Supply, REI, The Dyrt, and Wide Open Media.
I also do science communication. I can take a peer-reviewed paper and turn it into something a general reader will finish, usually by going to the researchers themselves and asking them to explain it out loud.
